The Soho bar

The client: This Soho bar’s owners wanted to create the right impression. To do that they needed to re-tile a large area both quickly and with a top quality finish.

The spec: 130 square metres of tiling to be completed ASAP.

The result: The re-tiling was carried out at top speed and with an excellent finish that drew praise from staff and customers alike.

Feature tiling in Wimbledon

The client: This commercial client was looking for a way to refurbish a meeting room.

The spec: We were asked to supply some non-tiling options but when they saw our idea of a tiled feature wall using black slate stoneskin feature tiles, they loved it and we won the contract.

The result: A meeting room that really did the business.

The Surrey wetroom

The client: A homeowner and his builder in Kingswood, Surrey, contacted us to turn a bathroom into a wetroom. They didn’t just want a great finish, but one that would increase the value of the property long-term.

Non-tiling services: We prepared the floor by working on the supporting joists, fixing marine ply, and installing ditra matting to prevent bounce and provide extra tanking. We also installed underfloor heating, a tanking system and the shower tray.

Tiling spec: Once the underfloor heating was in, we were able to complete the job by tiling the entire room using a pro-mastic finish to match the grout.

The end result: A standard bathroom was transformed into a beautiful, bespoke wetroom.

The Ashstead new-build

The client: A builder working on a brand new house in Ashstead, Surrey.

Tiling spec: A 180 metre square job throughout the house including large-format marble tiling, porcelain tiling and mosaics.

The result: The client was really pleased with the outstanding finish throughout.

Top tiling tip: Screed, substrates, joists…if you’ve not refurbished a property before then some of the terminology can put you off. If there’s anything you’re not sure of at the start of a job, give us a call and we’ll be happy to explain.

The Guiness Trust bathrooms

The client: The Guiness Trust, London Bridge.

Tiling spec: Tiling multiple bathrooms totaling 735 squared metres. Such was the scale of the job that we were given a project deadline timesheet each week. Had we missed those deadlines we would have been penalised.

The result: We met every deadline, every week and delivered all the bathrooms with a fantastic finish.

The Epsom kitchen extension

The client: When two homeowners wanted to extend a kitchen, they asked us for technical advice and a quote for both the time and cost to tile their floor. They knew that there were problems with three of the substrates so came to BP Tiling for our range of non-tiling services.

Advice and work: Looking at the floor, we quickly realised that we would need to do some preparation work to flatten the floor before we tiled it.   If we didn’t, the owner would have experienced problems within just a few months.

Non-tiling services: To flatten the floor and keep it flat we needed to:

1. Remove the chipboard, repair and support the joists.

2. Lay 6mm cement board over the substrates and overlapping the screed.

3. Latex from the cement board to the screen

The result: Thanks to the preparation, this beautifully tiled floor will now be sound for life.
